SJ has won the tender to run night trains on the Stockholm-Hamburg route starting in the second half of 2022, the train operator announced in a press release.

The trains will be called SJ EuroNight, in collaboration with Danish train operator DSB and German company RDC.

– All the details about how we will operate the night trains are not yet in place. For example, we are working to create the best possible connections to and from the night train. We want to make it possible for as many people as possible to take the train to the continent and attract as many Europeans as possible to travel to Sweden, says Maria Hofberg, responsible for international night train traffic at SJ, in the press release

The investment in night trains to Europe was one of the points that the parties S, MP, L and C agreed on in the now-buried January Agreement.
