A record number of tourists visited Stockholm this summer, according to figures obtained by the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.
”The trend is clear and shows that Stockholm is becoming an increasingly strong city for visitors,” says Daniella Waldfogel, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce.
During June and July, 3.6 million guest nights were registered in Stockholm, an increase of 8 percent compared to the summer of last year. This is the highest level ever measured.
”"Last summer we were able to see that tourism was back after the pandemic. Now we are breaking records again," says Waldfogel.
During the period, 1.5 million hotel rooms were rented out and the average price for a room increased by 12 percent to SEK 1,645.
Every third guest night in the capital comes from visitors outside the Nordic region, the Chamber of Commerce writes in a press release.
