The company increased its turnover by 10 percent compared to the previous year's peak of SEK 1 billion.

The growth is due, among other things, to increased business travel, loyal customer club members and greater demand for long-term rentals.

Things are still going up for Sweden's largest car rental company, Hertz. The company, which had a turnover of SEK 1 billion in 2017, reached a new all-time high in 2018, increasing its turnover by another 10 percent. Hertz also broke a record for the number of rental days, which exceeded 3 million in 2018.

During the year, demand for long-term rentals also increased, primarily among private customers, who increasingly rent cars for longer periods and not just during the summer and winter holidays. As in previous years, the proportion of foreign rental car customers, mainly from Norway, Denmark and the USA, is also growing.

Hertz continues to see high demand for electric and hybrid cars. Another clear trend was that customers were switching from diesel to petrol-powered cars. More and more customer bookings are being made digitally, with many booking directly on their mobile phones – often at short notice.

– In 2019, we will continue to invest in improving the customer experience, including through extended opening hours and a chat on the website, says Niklas Siljeblad, CEO of Hertz.
