Boeing is being sued by relatives of a Swedish woman who died in a plane crash in Ethiopia in 2019, writes Today's News.

None of the 157 people on board survived when a Boeing 737 Max crashed. Four of the fatalities were Swedes.

Five months earlier, a plane of the same type had crashed in a similar manner shortly after takeoff from Jakarta, Indonesia.

Initially, the pilots were blamed for the accident, but then it turned out that it was software in the new aircraft type that was faulty and a month after the accident in Ethiopia, Boeing took responsibility.

The lawsuit, which the relatives have filed in a US court, seeks damages and compensation for suffering from the aircraft manufacturer. No amounts are mentioned.

The Swedish woman worked in aid and was on her way to the UN environmental conference in Nairobi. She left behind a minor daughter.
