On June 2, 2023, at 12:00 noon, SAS will open reservations for its first commercial flight with electric aircraft in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. SAS invites travelers to join in writing the next chapter in the history of aviation. 30 seats are available for reservation on each of the first three flights – which are expected to take place during the course of 2028.  

SAS's goal is to have net-zero emissions by 2050. An important factor in achieving that goal is developing and using technical innovations, such as electric aircraft for shorter trips.

The ticket price for the first flight will be 1946 SEK – a tribute to the year SAS began flying. A start-up that also marks the beginning of SAS's innovative character, when the then founder Wallenberg claimed that "Going from the old to the new is the only tradition worth preserving."
