Restaurant bankruptcies increase despite eased restrictions

Despite easing restrictions, hotel and restaurant bankruptcies increased in November. The industry faces continued challenges, according to credit reporting agency UC.

”"The challenges the industry has faced in finding qualified labor continue and large sums of corona support are to be repaid in the near future, but optimism remains strong in the industry," says Richard Damberg, economist at UC, in a press release.

However, the real estate sector is moving in the opposite direction, where the number of bankruptcies decreased by 54 percent during the same period.

”"The real estate industry is feeling confident after the return to offices and other public environments, after restrictions have now been lifted in Sweden," writes Richard Damberg.
