Swedish restaurants' sales volume fell 36.2 percent in the fourth quarter compared to the corresponding quarter in 2019.

During the third quarter, the decline was 18.6 percent.

The weakest development during the fourth quarter was noted for hotel restaurants, -65.6 percent, and entertainment restaurants, -56.2 percent.

In current prices, sales decreased by 35.0 percent in the fourth quarter compared to the same period last year.

Accumulated in 2020, restaurants' total sales volume decreased by 26.6 percent while sales value fell by 24.8 percent.

Hotel restaurants decreased sales volume by 49.8 percent in 2020, while restaurants close to traffic decreased by 42.6 percent. The weakest development was noted for fast food restaurants, -3.7 percent.
