This afternoon, a flight landed at Jönköping Airport with charter travelers from Germany. It is the first plane with passengers in almost a year and a half for the airport. An arrival that is a great joy for both Jönköping Airport and the county's tourism industry.

Behind the flight lies long-term and persistent work from Smålands Turism together with the German company Charterways and German tour operators. Back in 2007, the first charter flight arrived in Jönköping with foreign tourists and has done so with regular series every summer since then, with the exception of 2019 and 2020.

– A fantastic day! The lack of passengers has been enormous and it is therefore very pleasing that we are able to receive this flight today. Even though we have had the airport open and operations running for cargo flights and socially beneficial transport throughout the pandemic, this means a lot to us.
