Travelling with the environmentally friendly means of transport is increasing, as SJ shows in its report for the third quarter. With increasing net sales and a stronger operating profit, the company's financial position is further strengthened, which paves the way for future billion-kroner investments in new vehicles, the report shows.
The ever-increasing demand for train travel is strengthening SJ. Travel increased by 15 percent, compared to the same period last year.
”"The increased interest in vacationing in Sweden during the summer, combined with the many improvements we have made in recent years to make the train more competitive, is yielding results. More and more travelers are choosing to avoid flying and driving and are choosing to travel climate-smart by train instead," writes SJ CEO Crister Fritzson.
Punctuality for SJ's long-distance trains was 82 percent (75) and for SJ's medium-distance trains 93 percent (88).
Net sales amounted to SEK 2,048 million (1,848).
Operating profit amounted to SEK 198 million (95).
The profit for the quarter amounted to SEK 176 million (73).
