At the end of May, it will be possible to fly directly to Jordan from Stockholm Arlanda Airport for the first time. Royal Jordanian Airlines is establishing itself in Sweden and meeting the demand for a connection between Sweden and Jordan when they launch a direct flight between the two capitals.
Jordan's national airline Royal Jordanian Airlines is establishing itself in Sweden and for the first time starts service from Stockholm to the Middle East with a direct route to Jordan's capital and most populous city, Amman. The route is unserved and will be a welcome addition to Arlanda's existing offering.
Jordan borders Israel and Palestine, the West Bank, Syria to the north, Iraq to the east and Saudi Arabia to the south. The country's geographical location connects the Orient with the West. Before the pandemic, there was an increased demand for travel between Amman and Stockholm to visit family and friends, but there is also a growing interest in Jordan as a tourist destination.

The new route between Sweden and Jordan is another step in line with Royal Jordanian Airlines’ ambitious five-year growth plan which includes expanding the current fleet of 24 aircraft to more than 40 aircraft over the next three to five years,” said Karim Makhlouf, Chief Commercial Officer of Royal Jordanian Airlines.
Jordan is an Arab kingdom in the Middle East and home to the rock-cut city of Petra, located 180 kilometers from Amman. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Petra is considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and is the country's most popular attraction. Jordan is also known for its varied selection of other historical ruins mixed with modern cities, sites known from the Bible and beautiful palm-covered natural areas near the red sand deserts. The diving and reefs of the Red Sea are widely known and more and more people are going to Jordan to dive. The Gulf at the coastal city of Aqaba offers shore-based diving in the Red Sea.
Starting on May 29, 2023, Royal Jordanian will operate Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) – Amman Queen Alia Airport (AMM) twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays with an Airbus A320.
The airport is located 32 km from Amman city center, which takes 40 minutes by taxi and 60 minutes by bus in normal traffic.
