Irish low-cost airline Ryanair carried 11.1 million passengers (7) in August, an increase of 59 percent, according to monthly traffic figures.

This means that the positive effects of reopening have slowed somewhat from July, when the increase in passenger numbers was 111 percent. Before the pandemic, passenger numbers were around 14-15 million per month.

Ryanair's load factor grew to 82 percent (73).

A total of 71,000 flights were flown during August.
