Irish Ryanair acquired the remaining shares in the Austrian low-cost airline Laudamotion in December and now controls 100 percent of the shares.
This is stated in a press release.
In the wake of the deal, Laudamotion announced that the aircraft fleet will be expanded to 25 planes in the summer of 2019, which can be compared to 19 planes in the summer of 2018. By the summer of 2020, the aircraft fleet will in turn be expanded to 30 aircraft.
”"With Ryanair's support, Laudamotion will grow significantly over the next three years to reach 10 million passengers per year. We will present up to 20 new routes for winter 2019 after we have concluded airport negotiations towards the end of March," says Andreas Gruber, CEO of Laudamotion, in a press release.
Ryanair has gradually increased its ownership in Laudamotion over the past year and in August 2018 controlled 75 percent of the shares, as previously reported by Di.
