Ryanair is interested in buying some parts of the airline Thomas Cook.
The airline's CFO Kenny Jacobs told the Financial Times that the company is not interested in buying any part of Norwegian.
In particular, certain landing permits could be of interest if Thomas Cook is split up, according to Kenny Jacobs. This could include permits belonging to the German-based airline Germania, which ceased operations last week.
In connection with this, Thomas Cook announced that the company is undergoing a ”strategic review.” The airline Lufthansa has already expressed interest in buying parts of Germania’s long-haul operations.
Kenny Jacobs also announces that Ryanair is not interested in buying any part of the pressured competitor Norwegian, according to the Financial Times.
The CFO also predicts that traffic disruptions in the European market will be even greater this summer compared to last summer. This is despite the fact that total delays doubled to 19.1 million minutes due to major problems with traffic management.
”"I think the French traffic controllers will strike in May as they always do. It will probably be followed by problems with the Italians," Kenny Jacobs told the Financial Times.
