Ryanair begins flying to and from Arlanda. With two aircraft stationed at the capital's largest airport, the Irish airline will begin operations from November, the company announced at a press conference.

Ryanair starts flying from Arlanda. Low-cost airline Ryanair is investing in new routes at Arlanda.

The aim is to start flying more planes with Arlanda as a base eventually.

”It shows our optimism for the future,” says Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson.

Around 20 destinations in Europe are on the schedule, including the domestic destinations Gothenburg and Malmö.

The message can be seen as a new direction from Ryanair, which usually operates at smaller, cheaper airports around Europe.

Ryanair says it is not leaving Skavsta completely, but currently intends to use both airports. The airline closed its base at Skavsta a year ago, but still has traffic there.

At the same time, state airport company Swedavia announces that Ryanair will expand the program slightly at Landvetter and return to Malmö after a pandemic break.
