A passenger plane from Lithuania to Arlanda was descending for landing on Sunday evening when the pilot chose to abort.

– We were very close to the runway when it suddenly turned up and we were forced to circle around Arlanda for about a quarter of an hour, says a person who was on the plane.

The passenger describes that confusion spread on board when the flight took an unexpected turn.

– People looked at each other nervously, wondering what was happening. No one understood anything.

The flight attendants urged the passengers to remain in their seats, and over the loudspeakers the pilot said, "Aircraft on the runway," the person says.

– I got a fucking heart attack, it felt awful.

After the plane circled Arlanda a few times, it descended again and managed to land as expected.

– We finally landed safely, but you wonder what could have happened. It feels unpleasant.

Swedavia confirms that the Ryanair plane has aborted its landing.

– It is true that a plane earlier tonight chose to do a so-called go-around in connection with landing, says David Karlsson, Head of Communications at Swedavia.
