A Ryanair flight between Dublin and Krakow was forced to make an emergency landing in Berlin on Sunday evening after a bomb threat, writes German Bild.

Neither the airline nor German authorities have released any details about the threat to the plane, which made a sudden U-turn over Brandenburg and headed for Berlin airport.

Federal police searched the plane after all 160 passengers were evacuated. No explosives were found, and the passengers were able to continue their journey to Poland – on another plane – just before 4am on Monday morning.

A week ago, Belarusian fighter jets forced a Ryanair plane en route from Athens to Vilnius to land in Minsk, in circumstances that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen described as a hijacking. After landing, the journalist critical of the regime, Roman Protasevich, who was on board, was arrested by police.
