Ryanair has reached an agreement for the first time to recognize cabin crew unions, but only in Italy, the airline says.
Earlier this year, the low-cost carrier reached agreements to recognize pilot unions in the UK and Italy.
Ryanair has long refused to negotiate with unions, only holding discussions with its employees through the company's representation committees. But between September last year and March this year, Ryanair was forced to cancel 20,000 flights due to a pilot shortage and a long-running pay dispute, which prompted the company to start recognizing union members.
