Ryanair has extended its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for a further five years. The airline will continue to use AWS cloud and AI technology to develop its digital services and streamline operations.
The technology is already being used across multiple areas of Ryanair’s operations, including powering the airline’s booking platform, optimising scheduling across its fleet of 647 aircraft and around 3,900 daily flights, and improving operational efficiency. The collaboration also includes AI-based employee tools and digitalisation of pilot workflows.
Ryanair states that the company, together with AWS, will now also develop solutions based on so-called agentic AI – AI systems that can perform more advanced tasks with limited human intervention.
“AWS has been a key partner in our work to create a seamless customer experience from booking to boarding, while technology contributes to the efficiencies that underpin our low-cost model. As we aim to carry 300 million passengers by 2034, the right technology partner is crucial,” said Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson.
Solutions already in use include the Amazon Quick AI assistant, which helps employees analyze data and make faster decisions, and the internal Ryanair Connect app. The app gives cabin crew access to schedules and flight information in real time, and includes an AI-powered chatbot that answers questions about company procedures and training.
The extended agreement is part of Ryanair's continued focus on digitalization and AI to streamline operations and improve the customer experience.
