Low-cost airline Ryanair reports slightly better-than-expected figures for the 2023/2024 financial year. The company is also positive about booking levels ahead of the summer.
Sales for the full year 2023/2024 rose 25 percent to EUR 13,443 million. The outcome compares with the Bloomberg analyst consensus of EUR 13,380 million.
The number of passengers increased by 9 percent to 183.7 million euros.
Demand for summer flights is said to be positive given the limited capacity for short-haul flights, and bookings are currently above last year, the company says.
The report also states that the company has approved a new share buyback program of 700 million euros.
Operating profit was EUR 2,061 million, expected operating profit was EUR 2,040 million. The operating margin was 15.3 percent, which was an improvement from 14.6 percent the previous year.
For the 2024/25 financial year, Ryanair expects to have between 198-200 million passengers, expected 199.83.
