Ryanair, which issued a profit warning on Monday due to its striking staff, now hopes to reach an agreement with the unions by Christmas.

This is stated by marketing manager Kenny Jacobs, reports Reuters.

Kenny Jacobs told reporters in Madrid that it wanted contracts with both cabin crew and pilots secured until Christmas, adding that it had accepted demands from Spanish unions to recruit staff under Spanish labor laws.

Until now, all Ryanair employees have had to sign employment contracts under Irish law, which has contributed to the dissatisfaction and subsequent strikes among employees.

Ryanair released passenger traffic figures for September earlier on Tuesday, showing an 11 percent increase to 13.1 million passengers during the month.
