Airline giant Ryanair has won a dispute that has reached the Irish Supreme Court and can thus stop the Irish pilot strike, The Independent reports. 

The strike was supposed to last for two days starting on Thursday. However, the Supreme Court has restricted the union from directly or indirectly organizing, running or encouraging their members to participate in a strike on August 22-23. 

Around 180 members of the Irish pilots' union had voted for action during the busy summer holiday period, but Ryanair sought an injunction against the parent union on technicalities, alleging that the union had called for a strike before the mediation process was completed.
