Low-cost airline Ryanair reports revenue and profit lower than expected in the first quarter. The profit figures remain negative.

Revenue rose 195.9 percent to EUR 370.5 million (125.2). The outcome can be compared to Factset's analyst consensus, which was EUR 399.

The result after tax was -272.6 million euros (-185.1), analyst consensus -269.

The company states that full-year visibility is virtually non-existent and they still feel it is not meaningful to provide any full-year forecast.

However, regarding the traffic, this is assessed to improve to 90-100 million passengers, compared to previous guidance of traffic in the lower part of the range of 80-120 million. The likely result is somewhere between a small loss and breakeven.
