According to a press release, defense giant Saab will install and operate digital air traffic control towers at Scandinavian Mountains Airport, which mainly serves destinations in the Sälen and Trysil areas. In

No financial details were given. This is the first time digital air traffic control towers have been put into operation at a new airport, the company says. It is also the first time Saab has delivered fully digital air traffic control services.

The agreement covers the installation of Saab's R-TWR system at the airport during 2018/19 and operation from Sundsvall starting in December 2019 for a period of ten years. The airport will be put into operation during the winter season 2019/20.
