Halmstad Municipality is investing 800,000 kronor in tackling the sand dunes in Tylösand, which are creeping further away from the sea and closer to Hotel Tylösand, which is co-owned by Per Gessle, writes Hallandsposten.

Every year, between 300,000 and 400,000 kronor is spent shoveling away sand that blows onto Prince Bertil's path that runs along the shoreline. Several fences have been erected to push the sand back towards the water, but to no avail.

Now around 15,000 cubic meters will be moved from the path on one side of the dune to the beach on the other side.

– We shovel the sand into a bucket and then drive it directly down to the beach and place it at the forefront of the dunes, so that we can fill them up there again, says Henrik Larsson, project manager at Halmastad's technical and leisure administration, to Hallandsposten, and continues:

– The path and the rescue route will be accessible again. The planks will be exposed and the old fence will be taken down.
