SAS and Garuda Indonesia are strengthening their collaboration through a new codeshare agreement that will improve connections between Scandinavia and Indonesia. The partnership will give travelers access to more destinations and smoother connections via the airlines' combined route networks.

The collaboration includes, among other things, travel between Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo as well as Indonesia's two most important destinations, Jakarta and Bali. The connections will initially be via Amsterdam and Tokyo Haneda, while Bangkok will also be included from the winter season 2026/2027.

The agreement was signed during the IATA Annual Meeting in Rio de Janeiro by Garuda Indonesia's Transformation Director Neil Raymond Mills and SAS CEO Anko van der Werff.

“Garuda Indonesia is an important partner in connecting Scandinavia with Indonesia and the wider region. Together we make travel easier and more seamless for people, businesses and communities with connections between our countries,” says Anko van der Werff.

Both airlines are members of the airline alliance SkyTeam, and the collaboration is part of the ambition to strengthen relations between Europe and Southeast Asia.

For Garuda Indonesia's customers, the agreement means improved access to SAS's network in the Nordics, while SAS travelers will have more opportunities to reach destinations in Indonesia via Garuda's domestic and regional network.

Loyalty members are also included in the collaboration. Members of EuroBonus or GarudaMiles will be able to earn and use points on flights within the joint network.

Tickets within the codeshare agreement go on sale on June 9, 2026, while the first trips can be made from June 15, 2026.
