On Wednesday, a SAS flight between Nice and Stockholm was cancelled. A crew member was not fit to fly.
”It feels unpleasant when it's a SAS employee who is ”unfit to fly'," says Carina Selander, who was about to board the plane.
The flight was due to depart Nice at 15.40 and land in Stockholm just over three hours later.
But no flight took place. One of the crew members was deemed unfit to fly.
”A crew member was deemed ”unfit to fly” and we therefore lacked a full crew for that flight.”, writes Alexandra Lindgren Kaoukji, communications manager at SAS, in a text message.
Carina Selander was just about to board when the police boarded the plane.
– Suddenly, a flight attendant comes and says we all have to go back to the waiting room, she says.
Carina: ”Feels uneasy”
The flight was cancelled and passengers were asked to await further information.
”We have rebooked all passengers onto other flights.”, writes Lindgren Kaoukji.
SAS will not comment on why the crew member was forced to leave the aircraft. 20 of the passengers were rebooked onto another flight; the rest will travel on Thursday.
Carina was going to Sundsvall by way of Stockholm.
– I've flown a lot in my life, but this has never happened to me, she says.
– It feels unpleasant when it's a SAS employee who is ”unfit to fly”. Everything was very strange.
