According to the extensive Swedish brand survey Sustainable Brand Index, where Swedish consumers were able to cast their votes, SAS is once again considered the best in sustainability within the airline industry.

For the thirteenth year in a row, the Sustainable Brand Index survey was conducted, the most comprehensive brand survey in the area of sustainability in Sweden. SAS regains first place in the airline category.

Since 2017, SAS has invested in new and more fuel-efficient aircraft to reduce CO₂emissions and now has one of Europe's most modern fleets. In addition, SAS is involved in several projects to accelerate the production of sustainable aviation fuels and support the development of electric and hydrogen aviation.

The Sustainable Brand Index is Europe's largest independent brand study that measures consumer perceptions of brands and sustainability. 29,000 Swedish consumers have rated 418 Swedish brands based on how they are perceived to perform within the UN's 17 global sustainability goals. SAS has been in first place 11 out of 13 years in its category.
