SAS is relaunching two routes from Denmark to Scandinavian Mountains Airport, flying international guests directly to the airport on the border between Sweden's largest ski resort Sälen and Norway's largest ski resort Trysil. The route from Copenhagen will open on December 26, 2021 and will operate on Thursdays and Sundays.
On the same day, a line from Aalborg, Denmark, starts with service on Sundays..
– It is incredibly gratifying to once again be able to welcome such an established player as SAS to our airport. The travel time to our ski areas will be 8 hours shorter, for example, for a family from the Copenhagen area who wants to visit us. Short flight and transfer times in combination with a first-class alpine family product give us a great advantage in the alpine winter holiday market. – We expect great demand from Danes for these destinations once the ski season starts again. Danes have not been able to go on a ski holiday for two years now due to the pandemic and there is a pent-up demand for skiing in the nearby mountains. Sälen and Trysil are very popular destinations for ski-loving Danes and we are pleased to be able to make them easily accessible again with these direct routes. As a result of the pandemic, demand for flexible tickets has increased and we have therefore introduced new booking rules and rebooking options. Says Mette Krath, Sales Manager SAS Denmark.
