The airline SAS will open a new flight route from Copenhagen to Hong Kong in October.
It will replace the line that currently runs between Arlanda in Stockholm to Hong Kong, the company said in a press release.
SAS states that since its inception three years ago, it has experienced profitability challenges on the Stockholm-Hong Kong route.
Through a new slot, SAS will be able to offer a more attractive timetable with popular night flights to and from Hong Kong, but for operational reasons the route will need to be flown from Copenhagen.
Flights from Copenhagen to Hong Kong will operate five days a week, with the inaugural flight scheduled for October 28.
