A growing demand for leisure travel will see SAS open a new route to Bangkok, Thailand. The new route will give travelers the opportunity to fly directly to Bangkok three times a week with comfortable night flights in both directions, using an Airbus A350.
The first departure is planned from Copenhagen on October 30, 2023.

The route to Bangkok will be a perfect starting point for continued travel within Thailand and is a great opportunity for both business and leisure travelers. Bangkok is a lively meeting place for international companies and the country tops many lists as the world's most popular tourist destination with its beautiful beaches, lush jungles and extraordinary Thai cuisine. Whatever the reason for traveling there, we are pleased to be able to offer a direct connection between Scandinavia and the Land of Smiles again, says Anko van der Werff, President and CEO of SAS.
Many choose to enjoy the country's beauty and the many opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming and sunbathing, but Thailand is also known for its rich culture and history. Both in Bangkok and in other parts of the country, there are many temples, palaces and other historical monuments.
In addition to the new route to Bangkok, the winter program also includes SAS continuing to fly three times a week to Tokyo Haneda (HND) and Shanghai (PVG).

The Copenhagen-Bangkok route operates during the winter season. Please note that the new route requires government approval.
SAS will operate the Bangkok route with an Airbus A350 that offers passengers a unique travel experience. The aircraft has much lower fuel consumption and up to 30 percent lower carbon dioxide emissions than the aircraft it replaces. The Airbus A350 has 300 seats and offers three travel classes – SAS Business, SAS Plus and SAS Go.
