Police received a report shortly after 12:00 on Sunday about an SAS plane with smoke developing in the cabin.

The plane was en route from Oslo to Tromsø in Norway when it was forced to make an emergency landing in Trondheim.

– Four or five crew members were exposed to smoke from a burning object in the cabin. They have been examined by health personnel and discharged, said police operational manager Øystein Sagen to NRK.

There were a total of 186 passengers on board the SAS flight.

- The landing in Trondheim was carried out in accordance with standardised operating procedures, SAS press office writes to NRK.
