SAS postpones the second half of a billion-kronor loan of 4.7 billion kronor, reports Danish Finance.
According to SAS, the money from the private equity fund Apollo Global Management is not needed right now as the company's liquidity has developed better than expected.
The announcement has been welcomed by investors – the stock surged 27 percent after the market opened.
However, it cannot be ruled out that they may be needed later.
”"Depending on the continued development of SAS's liquidity position, SAS may continue discussions with Apollo Global Management regarding access to the second tranche of the DIP loan at a later stage in the Chapter 11 process," the airline writes.
