The airline SAS promises to pay in full what it owes Norwegian suppliers for goods and services.

When SAS filed for bankruptcy protection in the US in July, it had a debt to state-owned Avinor of 141 million Norwegian kronor. Just over a year ago, Avinor lost around 150 million kronor in credits paid to Norwegian, writes Aftenposten.

But unlike that time, SAS has now paid what it owed Avinor, something that other Norwegian lenders can also count on.

The announcement comes after the airline received the green light on Saturday night for its loan of the equivalent of 7.1 billion kronor ($700 million) from the venture capital firm Apollo Global Management. Half of the loan will be disbursed shortly.

”"This means that our suppliers in Norway are paid as normal. We do what is right for us when we buy goods and services. And we also refund the customers who were affected by the strike," says SAS Norway manager Kjetil Håbjørg.
