BRUSSELS. The European Court of Justice on Wednesday reduced the fines for several SAS companies by a total of 150,000 euros to 70.02 million euros, equivalent to 724 million kronor, for participating in a price cartel for air freight.
This is stated in a press release from the court. Six other cargo airlines had their fines reduced.
At the same time, the court confirmed the fines against eight cargo airlines.
The Commission issued a fine in 2010, which the Court of Justice of the European Union annulled in 2015 on procedural grounds.
In 2017, the Commission made a new decision on the cartel with fines, which the airlines appealed.
