SAS has signed a four-year agreement with the Norwegian armed forces, worth approximately one billion Norwegian kroner, the airline writes in a press release. SAS thus nips the contract from competitor Norwegian, which has had an agreement with the armed forces for twelve years.
”It is very pleasing that the Norwegian Armed Forces are choosing SAS as a supplier, and we see it as a great acknowledgement that SAS was the company that performed best regarding all the award criteria,” says Torbjörn Wist, Chief Financial Officer of SAS, in the press release.
The SAS agreement with the defence forces enters into force on 1 February 2020 and covers approximately 350,000 flights per year.
