Scandic's first hotel in Florø – Scandic Victoria Florø, formerly Comfort Hotel Victoria. With this opening, Scandic is taking new steps in its growth strategy, where additional franchise hotels are an important component.

Scandic opened its first hotel in the attractive Norwegian tourist town of Florø on Monday. With 97 rooms and meeting rooms for 150 participants, Scandic is broadening its presence in Western Norway and strengthening its position as the leading hotel chain in the Nordics. Together with the Helle family, who will manage the hotel under the Scandic flag going forward, the company sees a long-term partnership where the guest experience is paramount.

– Adding more franchise hotels to our portfolio gives our guests even more choices and destinations to experience Scandic, and these hotels are an important part of our ambitious growth strategy towards 2030. We are committed to continuously strengthening our well-invested portfolio with new hotels that create value for both guests and owners – and Scandic Victoria Florø is a shining example of how we make this possible, says Asle Prestegard, Chief Operations Officer at Scandic Hotels Group.

In 2025, Scandic launched updated growth targets for the entire company. The strategy includes approximately 10,000 new rooms by 2030, of which about half will be through the Scandic Go brand, which operates within the fast-growing economy segment. In addition to this, Scandic plans to grow through 30–40 new franchise hotels, providing broad Nordic coverage.

”We are very much looking forward to starting our collaboration with Scandic and the path ahead. With the investments and upgrades that have been made, we are convinced that Scandic is the right choice to take the hotel to new heights. We are confident that Scandic Victoria Florø will be a strong and attractive hotel offering for both locals and leisure travellers," say owners Mads, Ole and Leif Arne Helle.

Earlier this year, Scandic opened its sixth signature hotel, The Dock 69°39 by Scandic, in Tromsø. In addition to the new hotels in Norway, Scandic has also signed agreements for five new hotels, totalling over 1,400 rooms.

According to the press release.
