Scandic Hotels Group announced on 26 June that the company is strengthening its presence in Northern Norway through a new franchise hotel in Finnsnes. The hotel is planned to open in the summer of 2028.

Here are some main points:

  • The hotel is established through a franchise agreement with Norlandia Hotel Group.
  • The facility will have 154 rooms, a restaurant and meeting rooms.
  • The initiative is aimed at both leisure and business travellers.
  • Finnsnes serves as the gateway to Senja, a destination that attracts visitors with natural experiences such as the Northern Lights, midnight sun, and hiking.

According to CEO Jens Mathiesen, the establishment shows that Scandic's franchise model makes it possible to grow together with local partners while strengthening the company's market position in Northern Norway.

The deal is also the second new franchise opening in a short period of time along with Norlandia Hotel Group and is part of Scandic's strategy to expand through partnerships in selected markets.
