Really cold, you might think. But Sweden's coldest December day since they started measuring temperatures was Hemavan in 1978. Then it was -48.9 degrees.
– It is common for it to be more than 30 degrees below zero in northern Lapland if we get this type of weather with Arctic air reaching down at the same time as the weather is clear, says Mikael Luhr, meteorologist at Klart.
The coldest temperature ever in Sweden is minus -52.6 degrees in Sweden.
