The new self-service boarding gates are part of Swedavia's self-service concept for flexible and automated solutions that will make travel to and from Swedavia's airports even more efficient.

Automation and digitalization are high on Swedavia's and the airlines' agenda. The focus on self-service is based on creating smoother travel and also on optimizing terminal space, providing smoother flows and fewer queues.

─ Our new gates are part of Swedavia's innovation concept where we test and develop our services. Ahead of the World Cup in Åre, we want to be able to provide all our passengers with a better experience through smoother travel, but it will of course also benefit our frequent travelers who use the airport often, says Peter Fahlén, Airport Manager at Åre Östersund Airport.

Self-service boarding gates are currently installed at Stockholm Arlanda Airport and will be installed at all of Swedavia's airports gradually.
