The travel company TUI shares tips on some of the most popular and scenic nudist beaches across Europe for those who want to relax in the sun without swimwear.
Es Cavallet – Ibiza, Spain
In the Salinas Nature Reserve, surrounded by sand dunes and pine forests, you'll find Es Cavallet – Ibiza's first official zone for sun-lovers without the requirement of swimwear. This nudist beach is also known for its white sand and vibrant atmosphere. Just a short drive away is Ibiza Town (Eivissa), the island's capital, where history, nightlife, and energy meet in a delightful blend.
2. Caleta del Congrio – Lanzarote, Spain
Caleta del Congiro is part of a series of unspoiled beaches known as the Papagayo beaches. Formerly a nudist beach exclusively, over time it has become popular with both naturists and those who prefer to keep their swimwear on. Here you are surrounded by cliffs and sand dunes, while also being able to enjoy a refreshing dip in the clear, turquoise-blue water. To the west of the beach lies Playa Blanca, a tranquil holiday resort with palm trees, promenade, restaurants, and a marina – a perfect place to stay while you discover the freedom of Caleta del Congiro beach.
3. Esquinzo Butihondo – Fuerteventura, Spain
Butihondo beach is a beautiful, long beach on the southwestern coast of Fuerteventura with a secluded area for naturists. The beach offers golden sand, turquoise waters, and less crowds than many other beaches on the island. 4. Plakias – Crete, Greece
Plakias is a charming coastal village in southern Crete, and the main beach in the village is wide and shallow with crystal-clear, lovely turquoise water. The eastern part of the beach, near Kakomouri cape, is popular with naturists. There is plenty of space to find your own quiet corner and the atmosphere is friendly and respectful. Plakias is located about 45 minutes from Crete's third-largest city, Rethymno, which offers many lovely hotels, sandy beaches, and restaurants.
