Several cars on fire at Stavanger Airport

Remove

Several cars are on fire on the ground floor of a parking garage at Stavanger Airport in Norway. The fire is severe and the thick smoke has halted air traffic.

– The reason we stopped traffic is because our own firefighters have to help with the extinguishing work, says the airport's communications manager Guri Ulverud to VG.

Firefighter Victor Fenne-Jensen tells the Norwegian newspaper that the fire is not under control and that it could spread.

– There is a risk of spread if we don't get the fire under control, he tells VG.

A hotel near the parking garage has been evacuated.
