The Chinese city of Shanghai is expected to soon be able to lift the lockdown that has isolated record number since the number of positive Covid tests increased.

In the latest mass testing, 23,000 tested positive. Areas that have not tested positive for 14 days will be able to ease their restrictions, local authorities said, according to the AP.

Residents in these areas will be able to move around the area, but larger gatherings are still prohibited.
