At travel operator TUI, bookings for winter trips have increased by 14 percent in total compared to last year, of which bookings to Thailand have increased by over 30 percent.
At TUI, there is high pressure on autumn and winter travel. Compared to last year, the travel operator is seeing an increase in sales, especially for trips in December and February and to Thailand. Bookings for the autumn holidays have also increased compared to last year – an increase of 20 percent.
– Many people are planning to maximize their vacation and take a ”Thaimout” over Christmas, which falls in a favorable period this year. Bookings for winter trips in December have increased by a full 21 percent compared to the same time last year. Thailand has had an incredible increase, but the Canary Islands remain the Swedes' favorite this winter as well, says Dian Martinez Valencia, communications manager at TUI.
More and more people are booking in advance
The travel operator also sees that the general booking trend is towards booking your trip earlier and earlier. TUI released the trips for summer 2025 before midsummer and since then bookings have increased by 60 percent compared to the same time last year.
– Household finances have stabilized over the past year, which is now reflected in travel being more or less back to pre-pandemic levels. This summer, travel has increased by five percent from the previous summer, says Dian Martinez Valencia, communications manager at TUI.
