Catania Airport on the Italian holiday island of Sicily is open again, reports TT.

The airport was closed on Sunday after an eruption from the nearby Etna volcano.

Traffic to and from Catania on the eastern part of the island was closed on Sunday after ash fell over the city, making it unsafe for planes to use the runway.

The airport warns that there may be delays throughout Monday.
