In the midst of the ongoing sports holiday period, the Public Health Agency of Sweden is now reminding you of the advice available regarding travel.
– If you do not feel confident that it can be carried out safely, we strongly advise against traveling, says state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell.
It is important to adhere to the recommendations regarding travel outside Sweden, says Anders Tegnell during Thursday's joint press conference. The state epidemiologist emphasizes the importance of testing yourself twice after returning home from a trip abroad, first immediately and then again after five days.
– We know that some people can test negative but still get sick after a few days. It is important to do these two tests. It is also important to stay home for the first seven days after a trip abroad, says Anders Tegnell.
”Strongly advise against”
Most people travel within Sweden, and to do so in a way that is infection-proof, you should be able to isolate yourself at your destination if you get sick, not establish new contacts on or during the trip, and not be crowded at gas stations or other places where it is difficult to keep your distance.
– Think carefully before you travel. If you do not feel confident that it can be carried out safely, we strongly advise against traveling, says Anders Tegnell.
