According to state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell, there is a slight increase in the number of Covid cases in Sweden, albeit from low levels.

”"There is every reason to remember that we are living in the middle of a pandemic. The number of deaths is still very low, but it is important not to lose control now," he says.

At the press conference, five more deaths with confirmed Covid-19 were reported in Sweden.

This brings the total number of deaths in the country to 5,870, according to the Public Health Agency of Sweden. A total of 89,436 people have been confirmed to be infected with COVID-19.

At the same time, the situation in Europe continues to darken with increased spread of infection in countries such as France, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom.
