Singapore Airlines is strengthening its focus on Europe and launching a new route to Madrid, while the airline is increasing the number of departures to several major European destinations.
Madrid will become Singapore Airlines' 15th destination in Europe and second in Spain on 26 October 2026. The new route will be operated five times a week via Barcelona, using the Airbus A350-900.
“Europe is an important market for Singapore Airlines and these changes reflect our strong commitment to the region. We continue to see strong demand for travel to and from Europe,” said Dai Haoyu, Senior Vice President Marketing Planning at Singapore Airlines.
At the same time, several existing routes are being expanded. Flights to London Gatwick will increase from three departures per week to daily flights from October 2026, bringing the total to six daily departures to London including Heathrow.
Milan will also receive daily departures from Singapore from October, while traffic to Manchester will be expanded to daily flights as early as July 2026. Munich will also receive three new weekly departures, giving a total of ten flights per week.
For travelers in the Nordic region, the initiative means more connection options via European hubs such as London, Frankfurt and Munich.
