Finnair has appointed Sini Kivekäs as its new Chief People Officer and a member of the airline's executive board. She will take up her position on 1 June 2026.

Sini Kivekäs has nearly 30 years of experience in the financial sector and has held several leadership roles within both Nordea and Aktia. Most recently, she comes from Aktia where she was part of the group management with responsibility for group functions and HR.

I would like to warmly welcome Sini to Finnair as we continue to develop the employee experience as a key part of our strategy. Sini brings extensive experience and a strong understanding of how a holistic approach to people and employee experience contributes to a company's success, says Finnair CEO Turkka Kuusisto.

Sini Kivekäs highlights Finnair's clear strategy and the company's long-term work in a changing world as important reasons for her decision to join the airline.

– I believe that engaged and competent employees are crucial to a company's success, as the employee and customer experience ultimately hang together and become an important competitive advantage, says Sini Kivekäs.

She also describes it as particularly meaningful to work for a company that plays a central role in connecting Finland with the outside world.
