Six people have been found dead in a hotel in Bangkok, Reuters reports.

The dead were discovered by an employee at the luxury hotel in the central parts of the capital. The employee was supposed to check the room when it was time for guests to check out. According to the police spokesperson, there were no signs of a fight in the hotel room.

According to local media, the people died from suspected poisoning and not gunshots as initially reported.

"There are no signs of a gunshot," a local police officer told Reuters.
