Thousands of travelers are affected when SJ cancels trains urgently. 

The reason is a shortage of vehicles. 

– We had an incident on Thursday that we have been working to resolve. The train that had wheel damage has been cancelled. This has caused a queue to build up in our depots. To minimise the risk of cancellations at short notice, we have chosen to cancel eight departures until 22 December, says SJ's press spokesman Marcus Fleetwood.

There are departures between Malmö – Gothenburg, Gothenburg – Stockholm, Stockholm – Malmö and Stockholm – Västerås. 

SJ is now working to try to find replacement buses or rebookings to other trains. 

“We are working on this around the clock,” says Fleetwood.
